What kind of food/drinks do Biglaw cafeterias serve? Is the food top notch or junk? Are lawyers allowed to take a lunch hour?

Well it seems like a stupid thing to ask about even if you are a 1L and especially as someone just applying to law schools. Also, if anything over the next 7 years cafeterias will only get shittier. Most big companies have cafeterias, including law firms.chimp wrote:is this a thing???JDJohnP21 wrote:What kind of food/drinks do Biglaw cafeterias serve? Is the food top notch or junk? Are lawyers allowed to take a lunch hour?
Have you not learned anything from Google? You provide amenities to trick employees into working overtime.trebekismyhero wrote:Well it seems like a stupid thing to ask about even if you are a 1L and especially as someone just applying to law schools. I definitely chose my firm based on the cafeteria. Don't most of us?chimp wrote:is this a thing???JDJohnP21 wrote:What kind of food/drinks do Biglaw cafeterias serve? Is the food top notch or junk? Are lawyers allowed to take a lunch hour?
I imagine it is going to depend on the size of the office you work in. I doubt that an office with, say, 50 employees will have the scale needed to make it work.chimp wrote:I know companies have it. but never seen one at a law firm apart from whatever restaurants and shit are in the same building and downstairs.Freebot wrote:Have you not learned anything from Google? You are being ridiculous. No one questioned his "worthiness." Just that something that really won't matter for 7 years so who cares. Also, doesn't really matter for those working in itFreebot wrote:Thanks to all of you for finally having the decency to move beyond the question of whether the OP's question is "worthy" and actually answer the OP's question.
Wachtell does this I believe or at least I heard as much from a summer there.cookiejar1 wrote:I worked for an international firm that would plate my delivered meals (as a legal assistant). So far no firm in the US that I know of offers that and it is hugely disappointing. Why the fuck am I sitting at my desk past 8pm eating with a plastic fork? Come on, America.
