Since you're asking this question now, you must be a 0L and the only real answer is to not worry until you get to school and 2 and 3 Ls can tell you what's up. If you absolutely need to read 1, I would recommend moynihan's guide to real property. Not because it will make you a better law student- there's a good chance your prof doesn't care if you know about the stuff it talks about- but because it's a really interesting look at how our property law developed out of feudal England. If that doesn't sound like fun to you, then just enjoy your summer.
