Cravath is known to do it, and a few others do, but for the most part no.

It depends

Usually not but I have heard of people being asked at screeners why they got a 3.2 in college or whatever

You really want to work with a bunch of aspie tyrants who can't forgive someone for getting a C- in organic chemistry their freshman year?

I couldn't hang with people who wear shinny white shoes. Be honest. Could you?

Eta: shiny

Cravath is the only one I know of where you will not get an offer without them looking at your UG transcript (pretty sure partners had it with them on the CB). Yeah, you won't get WLRK without good undergrad grades but that's a long shot anyway. With decent undergrad grades, all the other big firms, including Cravath, should be in play.

Some boutiques might be picky but I don't know any specifics.

I only recall one OCI screener where I had to submit undergrad transcript in advance. May have been Cravath but I can't recall for sure. In retrospect, I don't know why I wasted a prime interview slot on Cravath. You just see the name and get stars in your eyes sometimes, I guess.

I know someone with a Cravath offer who had like sub 3.0 and plenty of F's. I doubt even they care.

I would have thought that it would be mostly for IP positions and the like that want to make sure you actually have a decent technical background.

Sometimes it's for people wearing white shoes who want to confirm that their crop is indeed the creamiest

Definitely second this, but wanted to let OP know that they will see it. I would assume it rarely if ever changes an offer one way or another. I would have thought sub 3.0 or F's would maybe be different, but if that's not the case then it definitely doesn't matter.

Who took OChem their freshman year? That was junior/senior level stuff.
