Law Grads: how much did your GPA change?

Post by Patent2014 » Mon Feb 16, 2015 5:43 pm

Yes, yes, yes, I know that GPAs often change a lot from first semester to graduation since the latter is an average of 6 semesters rather than just one semester. However, I'm curious nonetheless.
If you're a 3L with 5 semesters under your belt, feel free to estimate your final GPA as well.

Mine went up around .31 or so. I don't remember my exact GPA after 1L.

1L - both semesters absolutely the same

2L both semesters and 3L first semester - gradual upward climb

3L second semester - dipped a bit

My cumulative GPA was .21 to .24 higher than my 1L (can't remember exactly what 1L final was)

(Maybe worth noting my school imposed a curve for all three years, whereas I think a lot of T14s don't do that and it's easier to go up after 1L?)

I increased my semester GPA every single semester, and my cumulative has gone up .271 so far with one semester left in which I'd have to make a serious effort to not raise it further.

Of course, that mostly means that I was just really shitty at 1L. :?

Fall to Spring of 1L +0.07

Transferred to new school where cumulative GPAs have been (all of the _s are the same number):
3._9
3._8
3._9 (summer)
3._6

I only have one class for a grade now in spring of 3L, so my final GPA will depend on my grade, but could reasonably be:
3._0 to 3._8, not including discretionarily low grades. But all of my grades have been tightly grouped except for one outlier last semester, as you might guess from the fact that my GPA has only floated by .03. I expect 3._5 to 3._7.

Mine went down about .25. Don't remember the exact numbers but in that range. But I killed it my first year (i.e. tops in my class), so that's expected.

I started shitting the bed when I realized that I didn't want biglaw and didn't have to compete for SAs. That hurt my motivation.
