Italian, mike's way, although I don't think it's that great of a place.scrowell wrote:Santa Clara University.jerseymike wrote:Which T14 did you go to?
Funny story, I went to Jersey Mike's during the lunch break of day 3 of the bar exam. what's your favorite sandwich there?
why'd you name yourself after it then?jerseymike wrote:Italian, mike's way, although I don't think it's that great of a place.scrowell wrote:Santa Clara University.jerseymike wrote:Which T14 did you go to?

He could be from Jersey and named Mike? Besides, as far as chains go Baldinos makes the best Jersey style subs.scrowell wrote:why'd you name yourself after it then?jerseymike wrote:Italian, mike's way, although I don't think it's that great of a place.scrowell wrote:Santa Clara University.jerseymike wrote:Which T14 did you go to?

I've been here since right around graduating law school (about 6 months now). Not a firm-legal dept in a company. I spent $0 on wardrobe. I wear jeans, t-shirt, and vans to work everyday.RCSOB657 wrote:How long have you worked there? Is this a firm with 101+ attorneys? How much money did you have to spend on your wardrobe, and did you have this money before or after you started working there?

yes-i'd safely say everyone here is familiar with this company. i've worked at 3 different companies for the legal department. one was very small (3 people including me), one was mid-sized (about 20 lawyers/paralegals), and this one is huge (100s of lawyers). they all involve pretty much the same work/skill set. i definitely think it's possible to start small and work your way up in in-house transactional/corporate law.RCSOB657 wrote:Hmm, would you consider it a local, regional, or national company? Does this company do things you were familiar with before you went to law school, perhaps the same industry you have worked at before?
Example, I have worked office and operations in the trucking logistics industry. There are two companies I have worked for which I would be happy to work in their legal department. Is it something like that?

Why do people say "Big Law" but "large company" (as in, "I worked in Big Law but now a large company") and why did you say "big company?"scrowell wrote:Fair point RCSOB657. I do transactional work at a big company.
Not sure. I don't follow the crowd.MikeSpivey wrote:Why do people say "Big Law" but "large company" (as in, "I worked in Big Law but now a large company") and why did you say "big company?"scrowell wrote:Fair point RCSOB657. I do transactional work at a big company.
