Looking into litigation and will have an S.A. next year. I need to pick classes but not sure if I should go for more enjoyment (Law and the Police) v. try to prepare for my S.A. with slightly more rigorous, useful classes (Evidence/Advanced Civ Pro). With that said, what classes does TLS recommend for someone in my position?

Possibilities:
Evidence
Insurance
Advanced CivPro
Fed Courts
Law and Economics

Thanks

write a law review article if you haven't already. you need to have something at least in prepublication before you start if you want to get any good work this summer.

Make sure it is in publishing order, don't rely on the slobs who do cite checking for your LR.

Evidence and as much civ pro as you can get for litigation. If there was any single substantive area i felt behind in relative to upper years it was basic evidentiary principles

Advanced LRW. Effective searches are key, because now each one costs money. If you would just search a bunch of times to find what you needed in LS, you may want to improve in this area. Also, some of the providers are free for summers so you want to be comfortable on those ones. Even though your time might be billable, it may not be collectible so you don't want to generate big tabs.

Does your law school offer a course on locating misplaced commas and clicking around in Westlaw for caselaw that obviously doesn't exist? If so, you should take that class as that's mostly what you'll be doing when you're not coding docs.
