How possible is it to earn a non-negligible amount of money while in law school? Specifically, is would/will I be limited to flexible, small-hours stuff like test-prep tutoring, or could one hold down something upwards of 20 hours a week? Is it more of an option or less of an option after 1L? Anyone with experience being gainfully employed as a full time law student?

Assuming you don't mean as a 1L, which isn't allowed (and would be a bitch), I've heard of people making good money working part-time for firms. I don't think anyone works full-time during school.

I'm one of the few who worked full time during law school. I had to seek permission and I did a lot of work under the table/behind everyone's back. This was well over 20 years ago. I wouldn't suggest trying it now, too easy to get caught in the digital age.
