This thread is clearly focused on self administered handjobs, please stay on topic bjsbjsesq wrote:Your opinions on hand jobs? My thought is that they are a nice gesture at most, a great way for friction burns and no orgasm at worst. I tend to think that HJs are the GED of sex and fuck em.
Good question. I don't think I would be remotely excited about a hand job at this point. Though I haven't heard of anyone getting just a hand job since like middle school.bjsesq wrote:Your opinions on hand jobs? Nothing much. I studied in the library more often than everyone else, but I think most people just studied at home, and I don't think where you studied matters all that much (although studying the library does give you an opportunity to collaborate with the other people who are working in the library). I guess the big thing would be focusing. A lot of people study for a ridiculous amount of time, but they do it really scattered and don't get much done. When I studied, I studied and did nothing else. No facebook, no texting, no chatting it up with everyone else. I got down to business and finished. This ultimately gave me more free time to do other things. But while I was studying, that's all I did.canoe wrote:What are some study habits you had that were different from most other students?
Contradicting the next answer... I would have studied the substantive content more. I didn't study that much, personally. I never studied, besides skimming reading, during the bulk of the quarter. In the last week or two of every quarter I would outline approximately two hours per week. This meant I would outline about one quarter every two days. For those on a semester system, that would probably one semester every three days. A lot of the information is hard to grasp when you paid attention in class as little as I did, and so I spent the bulk of that time trying to figure the material out rather than actually outlining, and several subjects I would just breeze over because I knew trying to understand them in the short period of time I had was pointless. Given more time, I feel as though I could have actually solidly understood this material rather than just bullshitting it.canoe wrote:What would you do differently for 1L if you were aiming for the top 1% this time?
I really don't think studying is the important thing. I mean, yes, you do need to study, but I did just as well in those classes I studied little for and studied a lot for. The key thing is knowing what to do with the information you have, and it's really not that hard if you read a few practice exam answers. So that would be my recommendation, here. After the first two weeks of classes, glance at a practice exam and its answers. You don't care about the substantive content, but rather the relation of the content to the questions. Your goal is to identify what kind of information is important to the professor, and how the professor likes that information presented. Then, when you're in class, begin to focus your notes more on only the content that is important to the professor, and write it in a style that the professor would like on an exam. In this way, you essentially spend your entire semester/quarter studying for the exam.iamgeorgebush wrote:also curiouscanoe wrote:What are some study habits you had that were different from most other students? also, what were some study habits that you think helped you, regardless of whether they were different from those of other students?
