Top Law Schools

Hey TLS, long time lurker/occasional poster, but first time thread poster and soon to be making my decision in what law school to attend. I've been accepted in to a bunch in my home state, but there are a couple of schools offering great scholarships(low coa, high starting medians), but keep seeing the phrase " you need to have ties" to the area. Why are these "ties" so important, and what does it mean, specifically to the legal world? Sorry if these questions sounds stupid, I just don't want to leave my home state and then get screwed because I didn't have "ties."

Ties are pieces of fabric that u wear around ur neck, usually to work. A lot of times they r made from silk or wool, but u can also find them in cotton and other material. Usually u would wear a tie with a suit or a jacket. Ties are so important to the legal industry because most courthouses require them and a lot of fashionable business types wear them to work and may expect u to as well.

U can usually get cheap ties at ur local shopping mall. HTH

I recommend http://www.thetiebar.com for cheap ties of sufficient quality
