Associates being transferred to another city - common?

Post by ScottRiqui » Thu May 29, 2014 10:16 am

Is it very common for junior associates to be transferred from one city to another? I'm sure it happens in conjunction with major firm events - an office opening or closing, practice groups forming/disbanding, etc. I just haven't heard anything here about associate transfers as a routine matter.

Involuntarily basically doesn't happen long term. Sometimes (and pretty rarely) someone gets sent to Korea or Switzerland to manage doc collection. But it's rare.
