Top Law Schools

Hello,

Just admitted to BC law today. One of my top choices and will probably be attending.

I looked through the BC law website and several different Realtors' websites and started to get worried that there might not be housing (affordable one, that is) walking distance from the BC law campus.

Any insights into this would be much appreciated.

I'm also interested in hearing what people say. I've been admitted and have been looking at housing options and they seem very expensive for 1BR units. A comparable 1BR unit to the one I'm paying $1000 for in a major city the midwest is listed for over $3000 in Boston lol. I understand it's cheaper if you're okay having roommates, though.

Any ideas?

Didn't apply to BC but I live in the area and I can tell you if you want cheap, than walking distance is probably going to be hard. I would look further down the green line. There are lots of cheap places in Allston/Brighton but that also comes with lots of college kids living in the area.

Do you think living under $800 with a roommate would be feasible?

Oh sure. I know people in Brighton who only pay $650 each with roommates for pretty nice places. I would say as you get closer to campus places get smaller and more expensive. It's a trade off between location, price, and space. You probably can't get all 3, unless you luck out. I'd be careful of some of the landlords in big apartment buildings down the green line fwiw. Boston is trying to fix their rental policies right nor because a lot of big rental owners take advantage of students moving in and needing a place quickly. As long as you go actually check the places out before signing a lease that's pretty easy to avoid though.
