I did a search and the most recent UR 1L threads are from two years ago I believe. But feel free to close this....

I've gotten a few PMs from prospective students. Ask me whatever you want and I can try to answer.

This is all my opinion

First off, thanks for creating this thread! I'm currently deciding between Maryland and Richmond, and potentially Wake Forest. I'm a native Richmonder so I have a natural bias towards UR, but there's a lot I'd like to know from a students perspective! As I'm still making a decision on where to attend, I am mostly concerned with finances - since each of my options are all terrific schools. Could you tell me how generous UR usually is with students at/slightly above their medians?

In my personal experience, not generous. I didn't get anything. I was around the 25% for LSAT and around the 75% for GPA.

They give out a bunch of the John Marshall Scholarships which are full rides. There are about five from my section; there's three sections in total so I'm guessing about fifteen got it. They lowered the requirement to keep your scholarship as well.

I'd choose Wake Forest out of the three. Unless you know you want to practice in Richmond. They have pretty good alumni ties. It's a local school though.

Do you ever stray from the country club of U of R to get out in the ghetto?

And if you have, how many times have you been robbed?

Th UR country club is top-notch; why would I go anywhere else? I don't want to risk my Cartier watch getting stolen.

For reals though, my friend did say his friend got mugged downtown near one of the museums. I think this was a few years ago.
