PLI for patent bar prep, even though it's expensive?

Looking at reviews online, PLI seems to have the consistently best ratings in terms of being the most comprehensive, understandable, and up-to-date. The only reason I haven't jumped on it is that even with the student discount, it's ~$1800, whereas something like Omniprep is about $500. If PLI is that much better, I'll go ahead and get it, but I was hoping to hear from people here who have used it.

I took the exam before all the AIA changes, and I used PLI and spent a lot of time on the mypatentbar website. I think if you are disciplined enough, then you don't need PLI. PLI is very good, but the exam covers a lot of material and there really aren't any shortcuts.
