I'll be graduating here in a few months and attending law school next fall. I'd like to get a job working in a firm before I attend. What's the best way to go about securing such a position?

Browse through firm websites and job search engines looking for positions titled "file clerk", "project assistant", "document clerk", etc. They're all essentially the same position. It's an entry-level, largely clerical job. You'll be tasked with organizing pleadings, discovery, correspondence, depositions, etc. for cases. This is the easiest way to break into a big firm unless you'd take any job and would like to work in the mailroom or in a similar capacity.
Some firms require overtime on a regular basis while others don't. PM if you want specifics.

I met someone who was going to go to Yale who I can confirm got a 0L SA at STB, which was kind of surprising. Other than that, the best way is to have technical expertise, be patent bar eligible, and hit up an IP shop.
