Law Firm Business Development

I am currently interviewing for an entry-level business development position at a V5 firm. I have read as much as I can find about working in BD at large firms, but there really isn't that much available. Does anyone here have any first- or secondhand knowledge of law firm BD?
Also, as background, I am currently working as a paralegal and had planned to go to law school. However, I'm becoming less and less convinced that I want to go to law school, and BD is another career track that interests me, especially in terms of exit options after 2-3 years working at a V5.
