it's not worth changing your major for, but if you look at any biglaw attorney profile, it's one of three things always listed, along with Order of the Coif and Law Review. So don't skip PBK just because of the registration fee or anything.

Are you implying that PBK gives you that big of an edge? Or isn't it just a possibility that it's a mere correlation?

crushing undergrad (e.g. PBK, summa cum laude, etc) obviously gives you a small edge in clerkship and job apps, yes. like i said, it's one of only a handful of credentials that law firms consistently list, so infer from that what you will. it is not, however, a credential that provides sufficient reason to change your major.

The first random profile I clicked on did not have PBK
http://www.gibsondunn.com/lawyers/rcard
also, IIRC PBK only applies to liberal arts majors and only has chapters in 10% of institutions of higher learning.

You are still in college and know nothing about legal hiring. It sounds like you are peacocking your PBK here.

Don't change your major for PBK. I was a finance major and got PBK as a Junior. My understanding is that selection pretty much goes by who has the highest GPAs.
I'm a 0L and know very little about legal employment, but I highly doubt that anyone's been rejected for a job because they weren't PBK. It's more likely you'll be rejected because there are 150 qualified people applying for 4 positions and they semi-randomly picked 2 people that weren't you.

My point was that you don't HAVE to be in PBK to get big law. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by your question.
edit: Were you trying to point out that non-liberal arts majors can get PBK? If so, point well-taken.

If they earned PBK, they tend to list it Not everyone is able to earned PBK.
PBK is not requirement for Big Law , medium law or even admission to law school.
