I suspect this varies by prof, but my sense was that it wasn't a hard course, but it was a course where you actually had to do work throughout the semester (rather than cram at the end) because it involved hands-on exercises. But I didn't take it - that's just the impression I got at my school (and I don't know whether everyone had stuff to do every class, or if there were exercises that people rotated, or what).
