What exactly do you want to do with your law degree? It's fine not to want to work in big law, but do you even want to work in law? You mentioned regret about not majoring in linguistics. What if you finish 1L and regret not going to music school instead?

You should move to Oregon to establish residency, research the legal field, and study for the LSAT. Law school isn't going anywhere, but your interests might.

thoughtful reply.

I would like to do public serv or basically anything most here refer to as shitlaw. Im also interested in education (if i did psych or linguistics, it wouldve been ed). After taking in what some of the more thoughtful posters have to say here, i defo plan to complete law school, but im not ruling out a possible transfer to UO, is all.

and cant we say that everyone going to higher ed these days suffers from special snowflake syndrome? unless u major in engineering? :P

If you want to do "shitlaw" then you pretty much need to go to a school that places into the region of your choice. And it needs to be on a full ride. Basically anything other than that and you either won't get a job or be in life-crippling debt or both.

It sounds like you really aren't set definitively on law, you're just looking for some form of graduate school because what you've been working on for the past 7 years hasn't really panned out. Don't go to law school for this reason. You'll be in debt and you'll be miserable.

If you like education, apply to programs that will help you get licensed.
