Distractions during 1L
I'm talking about social drama stuff.
Are 1L's with SOs better off in terms of drama because they are less preyed upon by 2Ls and 3Ls who have more time on hand

Re: Distractions during 1L
For me, nothing is more distracting than being single and feeling "on the hunt" all the time. So yes, a truly solid relationship can make it easier to study. But it's silly to make predictions about such things for yourself -- it's not like there are reliable stats that show that people with SOs do better than those without or vice versa. And I have no clue what you mean by "preyed upon by 2Ls and 3Ls."chipotle wrote:I'm talking about social drama stuff.

You clearly have an image of law school that just isn't at all accurate.chipotle wrote:I'm talking about social drama stuff.

Re: Distractions during 1L
As a 3L, I can't ever imagine ever being attracted to a 1L. They know nothing, yet think they know everything. It's the least attractive attitude to have. Ever.

You mean the boys from the law review crew don't prowl incoming student events high-fiving each other and saying stuff like "check out the fresh meat!"FryBreadPower wrote:You clearly have an image of law school that just isn't at all accurate.chipotle wrote:I'm talking about social drama stuff.

I object!
To you sleeping alone tonight...
I assume that we're turning this into a "horrible legal-term related pick-up lines" thread.

all these seem to suggest that a single female 1L would benefit from having an SO

Re: Distractions during 1L
In all seriousness, it all depends. Some people are going to be in not-so-great, needy relationships that are going to cause problems with law school commitments. Other people are going to be in fantastic relationships with supportive partners that increase the quality of their work. Some people are going to be single and let single-related-crap get in the way. Some are going to be single and use outings as an opportunity to unwind, thus increasing the quality of their work.chipotle wrote:all these seem to suggest that a single female 1L would benefit from having an SO
Law school is just a place with people. A particular type of people, but regular people none the less. Do whatever you want to do; it all comes down to you and your personality. Just remember that law schools are very very small. Act accordingly.

That's such a weird way to put things. If you already HAVE a great SO who you're happy with, keep him! If he's supportive it will help you through law school. If you have a not-so-great SO, it's not going to get any better in law school, probably worse. And if you don't have an SO, I don't recommend finding one just to fend off the vicious 3L predators.chipotle wrote:all these seem to suggest that a single female 1L would benefit from having an SO

I find it amusing that so many women are calling guys for hitting on women as "predators." Most of you gals wouldn't have any clue how to hit on a guy if you were paid a million dollars to do it. You would be clumsy and not have any idea what to do. I have turned women down that have came on to me. For the guys that have done this, there are very few things that piss women off more than a guy flipping the tables on them and telling them no.

I have picked up more women than you. If you want some advice, let me know. Tip #1: Don't try to pick up women at the local pub/bar.Danger Zone wrote:Holy shit are you a PUA bro.bizzybone1313 wrote:I find it amusing that so many women are calling guys for hitting on women as "predators."
