Which of these 3 are the strongest in the Chicago job market? (yes, I know, they are in the same region as Northwestern, U of C and Notre Dame) (No, LSAT re-taking is not an option)

I am a 2011 Kent graduate. If I remember correctly, Kent has removed all stips for scholarships. Still with tuition as high as it is, you are likely to incur anywhere between 60k to 90k of debt from Kent (depending on COL etc). Have you thought about going at night and working during the day? I went at night and had a good experience. If you can keep the debt around 60k, it is a risky but perhaps a sensible decision. If you can get your total borrowed cost to about $30k or so - I would go that route.

Is it expensive to live in Chicago-Kent?

I will take a stab. Overall, they are all terrible. I can speak most closely about Loyola, since I went there for a year and transferred to UChicago. Unless you're one of the 10 or so people in the Top 5% with Mock Trial/Moot Court/Law Review (or have a technical background) BigLaw is basically out of the question.

As to distinctions between them, I don't think there's much. I do tend to see a lot more DePaul graduates in small firms, though, if that makes a difference. Loyola does pump the health law stuff a lot and grads with that focus might place a little better. I know one health law person who is now working in an NLJ 250 firm, but she gunned for health-related jobs/health journal from the beginning.

Nonetheless, if you go to one of these places you effectively have a 50% shot of getting a job (less for DePaul.) Those jobs will tend to be in Chicago, though.
