Extroverts

I'm a type of straight-A student who is also very extroverted.

Is law practice a good field for this combination? Or would I get more money with these talents in another field?

I'm thinking I will go toward litigation all the way, taking it with the ups and downs. My reasoning is that I will have less of a pecuniary cap here as opposed to prosecution.

OP, you don't appear to know what litigation is.

Okay, I have an assumption as to what you are all joking about. But all jokes aside, I was wanting something meaningful to come back to. You guys are a disappointment so far.

Well, do you?

If so, will you share? I'm not pretending I am a litigator. I'm just using my current knowledge to try and make decisions to the best of my ability. If I sound ignorant, I would really appreciate some enlightenment. It's the weekend, after all. Even you guys must have some free time.

A bit off topic but William Henderson (Law Professor at Indiana who does all kinds of research on student success) found that there is a negative correlation between LSAT ability and extroversion.

Two disclaimers that Ive learned to use when I source large data that not everyone likes.

1. This does not mean that if YOU are extroverted you want score 180 on the LSAT. Of course there are many outliers.

2. I have not seen the data set (thank goodness) so I have no idea if this is true. I am hyper-extroverted but his claim does not bother me in the least.

Actually a third disclaimer. I heard him cite this at a conference two years ago so I guess i could be misquoting him, although I think that is only a google search away.

Is English your first language? You write in a very odd, roundabout way.

One of my majors is English Literature. So, yes, I am odd.

Do you read often?

I would probably hate you based on the description you just gave. Law student who is VERY extroverted sounds like an abrasive gunner.

By the way, whatever that was you shared with me was nothing if not odd and roundabout.

Well I don't care if you hate me. Are you going to be helping me get a job? I can't see that being likely enough to consider.

Not to ruin the fun, but LaBarrister, prosecution is a kind of litigation. That's why your OP didn't make any sense.

I should have specified that the difference between patent prosecution and patent litigation was what I was trying to convey. I'm sorry.

But thanks for saying something lol

If you're looking strictly at IP law, do you have a science degree in addition to your English Lit degree? You may need it to be able to sit for the Patent Bar, which may or may not block off some patent opportunities.

Yes. It is an engineering degree. Chemical engineering, specifically. I don't like mentioning it because it makes me sound haughty, but I just majored in the two things I loved. I know... lame. Anyway, I guess that had to some out at come point to make any progress in this conversation.

OP, describe your question using only words that are two syllables or less.

I will, however, allow the use of the word "syllables."

IGF, you are fast becoming one of my favorite posters. Especially since I read any sarcastic responses in the voice of Harvey Specter. Well played, sir.

OP wants to know if he should go into law and litigation because he is a good student and extroverted and wants a high salary.

Am I close OP?
