Prep courses are a scam.

Just read getting to maybe and chill out.

I don't think it is worth the money. If you really want to know, find students at schools that you're interested in or have been accepted already and talk to them. Even then, remember that law school generates a range of emotional reactions from people, and it is up to you to figure out what you want to accept as credible or not.

I wouldn't do it.

I did Getting to Maybe but I didn't even feel that was particularly useful. All I got out of it by the time classes started was: argue both sides. You get enough practice with that (at least I did) with the practice "exam" assignments professors give out throughout the semester.

Now, I do think it was handy having GTM on hand (because I could flip through it and identify key tips/points for exams).
