Will Law Firms think I'm a dirty hippie?

Hi Again,
This forum has been very helpful to me and thank you for all the courteous and informative responses. I just have one more question as I try to work through my life plan for the next couple years.
I am a 2011 college grad who has worked full time since graduation. I plan to be working up through this next summer, at which point I will have ~1 year until law school starts. In case its relevant, I'll likely end up at a lower T14.
If I were to go abroad and volunteer at random places (ie building wells, being a hiking guide, live on a farm, etc) would this be of any significant consequence when OCI comes around?
I'll have about 2 years of WE plus 1 year of this crazy volunteering adventure. To me, I view it as an opportunity to gain a new perspective on the life/world, pursue some passions, while also helping me make sure I am 100% sure about my lawyerly future.
Will Biglaw see me as a flaky hippie? Will this be any major deterrent for a firm to consider hiring me?
Thanks in advance.
