Should I call human resource after no callback?

I am a 0L and I know I don't belong here, my apologies for not posting this in an appropriate forum.
But please, I would be really appreciated if you can give me your 2 cents.
I was recently interviewed at a Midsize Asbestos litigation plaintiff-firm in Manhattan for a legal assistant position.
So I had my second-interview at the firm in the second week of second of November. It was a successful interview, as the recruiter and the head paralegal were satisfied and told me that they would put in a good word for human resource department. They told me they would give me a callback in next or two weeks.
However, it has been two weeks and they never called me back. What shall I do? Should I just wait until they respond? Or call the human resource department/or the recruiter and ask them about followup on my status?
What's a good way to resolve this...?
Thanks guys
