Worth it?

Long story short..

Computer science major with a 3.4 gpa, December graduation. Was offered a job today for 65k a year and a decent benefits package. Take it or pursue law school? Only have taken the LSAT once did not study and got a 151. Since have studied sporadically and am currently scoring in the low 160s; planning on OCT retake.

PS) The work i am doing makes me want to put a gun in my mouth, as much as I love solving problems I cannot sit in a cube and write computer code for 8 hours a day.

Thinking of taking it until August and then just leaving once school starts.

Take the job. Still study for LSAT and pursue law school if you want.

If you can study while working that's probably your best bet. Unless you drastically improve your first LSAT test score it will be a challenge to get into a school that provides you a return on investment comparable to just sucking it up and working your CS job (which may have advancement opportunities, etc. within the 3 years you'd be burning in school w/o income).

If you get your LSAT near high 160's, or low 170's, I'd say it's worth it with your gpa. Otherwise, stay with the job until your reach that score on official exam day.

Take the job while you are studying LSAT. Having some work experience on your resume will help you later on, anyway.

Whether or not you pursue law school (which should probably depend primarily on whether you can get your LSAT score higher), take the job and work for a couple of years. Once you get on the law school train, you may find yourself wishing you'd taken a breather.
