Employer Paid Tuition - Tax free?

I am about to start my 1L year this fall part-time while working full time. I've heard that you can have your salary sent directly to your school to pay for tuition (cost of attendance?) kind of like a scholarship and that way you get that money tax-free. Does anyone have any familiarity with this subject? Thanks!
