How do you motivate yourself to work? I'm usually fine with math and stuff like that. I can usually sit down and do questions no problem. It's just my courses that require a ton of reading, like poli sci and history, that enables me to procrastinate like crazy. Had the whole day to read 45 pages. Didn't read a single page and spent the say doing stupid shit like youtube and reddit. How do YOU usually motivate yourself to work. I'm in uni btw.

Inb4 hurr durr you're going to fail at law school cuz readings

Reading equals grades. Grades equal money. I value money more than Youtube.

I drive myself to fear failure and then panic and then get to work. That was first semester. Now, I fear screwing up next semester and then panic and then imagine how sad I would be if I screwed up and missed out on L. Rev grade on opp, which I never wanted to do until this semester, and then get to work.

I wish that would happen to me. The only time I feel panicked enough to work is when the due date is so close that I realize that I have to start now or I won't have anything to turn in. This of course turns into pisspoor-quality work

Aren't there add-ons to browsers that let you limit the amount of online time per day? Maybe that would help you.

Do you have profs lined up to write a letter of rec? If not, I think that's motivation to get to work.

THIS.

My friends used to get so mad at me because I wouldn't go to the bars sunday-wednesday. But now that I've got huge scholly offers they understand.

If you can't get yourself off your iPhone and see the bigger picture, are you sure you want this?

Go somewhere to study without bringing your laptop. Go somewhere without the power adapter to your laptop, and don't charge the laptop overnight. Print out your syllabus/reading assignments.

I think I have a serious problem. Since my first post I've procrastinated the entire week and tried many methods but nothing has worked.
