I have been working at a pretty good engineering firm part time during the school year, and full time during the summers for the past three years. I've been able to work up from a lowly intern to a design engineer under a VP for the engineering. He and i have struck up a pretty good friendship, going out to lunch, going over to each others places for dinner with the wife/fiance. I was wondering if it would be beneficial to get a letter of recommendation to hold on to that I could include when applying for legal positions. Ditto for professor recommendations
Thanks for taking the time to answer

I don't think it will matter. Grades matter. But no employer I've yet seen has asked for letters of rec.

Thanks, as an 0L I'm unfamiliar with the process of obtaining legal employment

I have had a couple firms ask for lists of 3-5 references, so definitely use him then. But no letter of rec.

Can you work there after college? Why on earth are you wanting law school?

They are keeping me on as a consultant in law school. I don't really like engineering, but worst case scenario, I will not have an employment gap and I will have a job to come back to.
