Fishing for some current or recently graduated Northeastern students to ask questions of, particularly about co-op experiences. I have seen the two threads from more than a year ago, but looking for something more current. Reply or PM if you can help.

The no letter grades worked out great for me.

Although it is true that there are no letter grades at NUSL, everyone is given evals by their professors. And there are buzzwords that most professors use that correspond to an A, B, C and so on. So although there are no "grades," there are, but only people inside the school know what they mean.

yeah, I read some of the older threads about grades that said the same.

New question: How closely knit are the students? Are they all friendly with each other? Are they mainly from the Boston area or from all over the country? etc etc.

Well I guess it depends on who you are. The whole no real grades things means that it is a lot less of a competitive environment, which definitely makes people collaborative. Also people are split up into groups of 15 at the beginning of the year (your LO), and those will be the people you have every class with and whom you will work on your SJ project. For the most part everyones LO got along well. My LO was really close and we would not only do group projects together, but would study together, go to the bar together, and even have family events with each other. All in all, I would say that the school was very close-knit if you involve yourself in the school environment.

As for where everyone is from, I would say that a good third of the class is from the Boston area, but there are people from everywhere. There is a good size group of us from the west coast, there is even a few people from Europe.
