ole miss space policy center

I am confused about this school. I really wanted to attend because of the space law policy center they have, but I see it's nearly impossible to get jobs out of the region. Everyone who works at the Ole Miss policy center even went to school elsewhere. But it seems like going to school there will give great opportunities in the field with networking made in the policy center. HMM.. any advice regarding this? I do not intend to stay local in Mississippi, but really would have a great boost by making some contacts in the space law industry. I could also sorta do this in DC, but I'm not sure where else.

If you don't want to work in Mississippi, go to school somewhere else.
Ole Miss curves far too low - it hurts decent candidates. A 3.0 is somewhere around top 25%ish for first years.

I actually just sent in a seat deposit. Aside from the employment prospects, how would you describe your time at Ole Miss? How are the professors, the community, your fellow students, etc?

More than that with strat com. If you want to do space law go to Nebraska since Strat Com is based in Nebraska and hires straight out of it to work on base. Since they just got 500+ million in the senate last week to expand strat com and the university got all those grants a few years back for the undergrad institution to have joint programs with the government to hire students directly for CIA/FBI/DOD it might not be a bad choice for someone with a military or policy background. I might add Nebraska is the only school with a space & telecom LLM program.
I might add that Marvin Ammori is on a fast track to get back to Harvard or an elite school with the cases he has been involved with. There's no way someone like him is going to be staying in Nebraska. The guy is a rock star.

A dead end career.
Seriously though, it is law that deals primarily at the intersect between aviation and telecommunications law, although the laws are independent from aviation and telecommunications. Space law draws on those two areas a lot, ie radio and broad cast laws for satellites, aviation for getting the satellites into space. It's more so a specialized policy field that has few jobs outside of the military and government.
I would say a military background either in the airforce or as an intelligence officer is necessary to make it with a space law career as you will most likely be working back in the military.
