Hey guys,

I received an email from the fin aid office as well. Hope it means "acceptance."

Guys, my guess is that all of the financial aid emails are just to hurry you up into submitting all your documents. I didn't apply to UoP but my guess is they have a financial aid deadline of 3/1 or 3/15 that you should meet whether or not you have already been accepted.

On the other hand I did get some financial aid materials from DePaul a few days before I got my acceptance packet.

according to LSN, they haven't rejected anyone (except an obvious YP). so your prospects look good! i'll say that without even knowing your numbers...

As a 1L at McGeorge, I've found the atmosphere isn't competitive at all. If you need help or miss class you'd be hard pressed to find someone who won't assist you. Office hours are abundant, and we have a reputation for producing practice-ready lawyers. One thing I like is the feeling of community that comes from having our own campus and enough students that it doesn't feel like homeroom for three years (unlike programs I applied to at small law schools or those that are side-thoughts attached to large, mostly undergrad campuses).

Don't get me wrong, everyone works hard...but that's just law school. McGeorge is the only law school in CA that has a required course for every subject on one of the most difficult bar exams in the country. We also had an 80%+ bar passage rate based on the last numbers I saw (post March 2008 USNWR). You'll probably hear McGeorge students/faculty brag about the top-ranked international law program we have thanks mostly to our study abroad with class taught by United States Supreme Court Justice Kennedy (former faculty), published and cited professors, and one of the best collections of international research publications. Most importantly for me, law school is my priority, but not my life. I still go out for a drink when I want, see movies, and sleep in on the weekends.

Is it for everyone? No. But I've had a great experience so far, and I'm not concerned about my employment prospects or bar passage after graduation. In the end, you can't do much better when it comes to law school. I'd encourage everyone invited to legal scholars day to attend. The expenses are pretty well covered, so it's worth taking the time in order to be able to make an informed decision come April. I'm sure you have a lot of options for getting questions answered, but my contact is at the bottom.

Mayyybbeee. It depends on how the rest of my cycle goes I suppose but it was the first school I looked at because both of my parents graduated (then taught) at McGeorge so I have much respect. :D

I checked out my online status today and found out that under the fees section, it shows that Amt. due and paid is 00.00 for both first and second tuition deposit. However, the status still says "complete." Should I be concerned? Does it "signal" that I'm out? :?: :?: I do become paranoid...
Some one on the same boat with me??

I would not freak out over the online thing. Call the admissions office if you have questions about what the system is telling you.

i'm really torn about whether i should go to an ASD or not. the more i hear about the school, the more i am impressed.

i thought my big contenders were syracuse and miami, but i'm worried about passing up pacific. it'll be a bit of a pain to get out there, and i don't have the money to splurge on two nights in a hotel (or maybe one night, if i just spend a night in the airport before a 6 am flight back to DC)...and i'd have to take off of work for two nights...

is it worth it? i don't know if i'd want to end up in sacramento. i wouldn't know until i saw the city. i'm really struggling with this decision.

I am def. going to visit, I will be there for the March 20th legal scholars day! They offered me a very nice scholarship. I love that campus is just dedicated to law students, no undergrads to annoy me =) I will be going to McGeorge unless UC Davis offers me more money (Im out of state , so instate tuition isn't a big factor)

I just ran into a guy who is in his third year at McGeorge the other night (completely random), but he had great things to say about his experience and the school. He apparently has a job already set up starting this summer after he takes the bar, and he is in the top 25% (because I asked him). He told me that he has really enjoyed his professors and that he felt McGeorge places very very well in Sacramento. He also said that many complain about the neighborhood, but that he has always felt very safe on campus. With that said, he and his wife did live about 30 minutes away during his time there.

It was really nice to hear some encouraging words instead of the negative things often posted or discussed concerning law school.

My status checker says the same exact thing. Possibly a decision rendered coming soon?Anybody else have this experience?

I noticed the payment section a few days ago, now that a decision is rendered it actually has dates for both.

snaps, in my opinion McGeorge should be right in the mix with those other schools. What kind of law are you interested in? Also, where are you from and where do you ultimately want to end up?

I got my acceptance today. I think I am going to the Scholars day on March 20, but I am a bit hesitant because they want a decision about accepting the scholarship they offered me by April 1. I just don't want to miss out on chances from other schools who won't send decisions out until after then. Anyone else in that boat?

I'm withdrawing, so there will be an additional spot and a little bit of cash available. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

actually, i think pacific made my decision for me. they want an answer by april 1st, and i'm not going to visit syracuse until april 3rd. i'm really trying to avoid making multiple seat deposits...

so yeah, not flying out to sac-town. oh well.
