I'm starting Pitt Law in the fall and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to live. I'm visiting in march to start the apartment hunt so any advice would be great.
I do have a small dog that i would like to take with me
Thanks in advance

Are you going to the open house on the 26th?
While I'm not set on Pitt, I would also like to know if anyone knows of good pet-friendly buildings in the area.

Well if you've never been, I've heard amazing things about The O:

You should make a stop.

You'll probably want to live in Shadyside. It's only a couple minutes from the school, and it's a pretty nice area with some good bars and restaurants and lots of young people.

The "O" is the most vile, god-awful, disgusting building I have ever been in. Not just a gross place to eat, but a shamefully putrid building. Oakland is an awesome place with tons of terrific eateries, but the smell of the "O" haunts me to this day.
Some great places to eat near the school are Fuel and Fuddle, Campus Deli, The Union Grille (on Craig St), and Mad Mex (not your typical mexican joint, a true local fav). Outside of Oakland, but in Pittsburgh, are Fatheads (south side) and Church Brewworks (strip district); both are worth seeking out.
I don't think you'll have much trouble finding a pet friendly place to live, there is a lot of housing within a short bus ride to Pitt.
