Starting a two-year fed dist clerkship in 2025. More flyover than DDC, NDIL, SDNY, but still a significant metro area. Willing to go to any COA in the country. Have good connections through conservative legal fellowships, conservative PI stuff. And have a good conservative resume including state SG experience during law school.

Probs fairly helpful, especially if your judge is willing to put in a good word for you. State SG office in a place like TN, TX, or even KY will also certainly help you with securing a COA. Shows you have some real xp with appeals and know what the work is in general. Look at Judge Siler and other judges who have taken senior status too.

It helped me. I came from a low-ranked law school, but had stellar grades and my judge pushed for me. I had a handful of interviews in the end before I received an offer. Being willing to travel anywhere helped. And if you’re Fed Soc-oriented, their network should be quite helpful for your search. I would also try to discuss this with your judge. They are your best resource.

Big help. Especially if your judge is willing to go to bat for you.
