Any idea how many applicants are selected to interview with each judge?

I'm not the anonclerk, but I don't think anyone has a real idea. I bet it the answer is Chancellor/Vice Chancellor specific.

Has anyone heard anything? I have no reason to believe this, maybe its just wishful thinking, but I think we'll see movement by the end of this week. Assuming people haven't received calls already and I'm just not getting an interview.

A former clerk from 2017-2018 told me between 5 and 7. Not sure if it is still accurate.

Do all judges inform people on the same day?

I know someone who received an invitation yesterday for an interview with VC Cook. Haven't heard anything about the other VCs/CM.

I know some interviews went out yesterday.

Salary is 55k or so in chancery and supreme, not very competitive tbh--especially for a court trying to solicit more diverse candidates. Especially when you could make double as a fc. Still its a fantastic bench and should be a great experience.

Being local is a boost with some VCs and possibly C but is by no means a hurdle if you are a good candidate (support from a corporations professor at your school, competitive grades, and experience on a journal). Given the salary, its also a boost if you can live at home.

Chancery is a pretty intense clerkship. I would advise people to caution themselves against the 2-year one, from what I have heard its pretty common to abandon ship before the 2-years are complete.

To all who got interviews, good luck!

Anon clerk here. This is all extremely accurate. I will say that employment prospects coming out of a Chancery clerkship are very strong, which takes *a little* of the sting out of the terrible salary. There’s no better clerkship for getting substantive commercial litigation exposure and firms recruit accordingly.

What is the split on 2 year/1 year clerkships? I know it depends on VC/CM but not sure how it breaks down.

Also - does anyone at all have insight into VCL hiring preferences?

Any chances to know how many judges haven’t sent interview invitations yet? 🙃

I assumed they all had, but it would be great if anonclerk could give us some insight.

I don't think Del Supreme has hired for 24-25 if this page is anything to go off of https://courts.delaware.gov/supreme/.

They are going to appoint two new justices, likely one from chancery as no one on the current court is from Chancery. I would recommend people who missed out on chancery consider Del Supreme as well.

VCL, VCZ, and VCG have definitely done some interviews as well. Not sure about CM or VCW.

Just want to clarify that “has done interviews” doesn’t mean “done hiring.” AFAIK only VCZ is done and that’s because she only hires one clerk per year.

Right but if you did not get an interview by now, you should give up hope right?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
