Does anyone have insight or experience in dealing with a recommender who is just ghosting you. I figure if they don't respond to the follow up email I should just call it and cut my losses. Trying to contact them through other means to see if they missed it feels like the incorrect thing to do.

Easy solution: Show up to their office in person. If you do that and they keep not doing it, cut your losses and look for someone else.
