Curious about timeline for 3Ls (OCI time vs networking with alums and interviewing earlier), whether they're looking for 3ls with firm experience during 2L summer or high grades w/o 2L SA would be acceptable

I was hired by PBWT as a 3L a few years ago without a 2L SA, but with good grades at HYS and a postgrad clerkship lined up. I'm not sure if this is your situation, but they're very amenable to hiring public interest people who want to make the firm pivot. No prior networking or anything: I just sent an application to the hiring coordinator. I'm no longer there, but as of a few months ago they were very eager to have more junior associates.

Interesting, I always assumed people with postgrad clerkships lined up in 1-2 years would be unappealing (assuming the firm knew you would be leaving and might not come back)

If you're a clerk, they will send invites to chambers, or you can just email recruiting and ask to RSVP.
