different anon. do you mind sharing a rough timeframe of your invite? I applied to Kellogg a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything, while I've had a few invites from other boutiques with significant DC presence.

How long between submitting your app and being contacted for an interview? I’ve had a couple apps out since late December and I’m wondering if that means I’m out of the running—someone told me if you don’t hear back in 1-2 weeks you’re in trouble, was jw if that’s true.

Thank you. I applied through their portal for judicial clerk applicants, so I guess general litigation? But I expressed interest in appellate work.

That's wonderful. I hear good things about Gibson but I don't have any personal experience!

Different anon, but as a data point -- I got an interview invite the next business day after applying, offer came about 1 week after interview.

Has anyone interviewed with Quinn for a fully-remote position? If so, how much travel to the office is expected?

How soon after screeners do firms generally invite someone for a cb? Or does it vary a lot by firm?

Yes. For example, Sidley is taking apps now, but reviewing in Spring 2023

If that's the case, what are peoples recs of how to move forward if your top choice is reviewing spring but you're getting interviews now with other similarly situated firms?

There isn't a perfect solution. Join the firm that hires you first, then lateral to your first choice. Or you can renege on the first offer, but that might not be worthwhile if the firms are truly similarly situated.

Bankruptcy clerk from a bigger district here. Haven’t had much success at all yet. Do those in firms expect restructuring positions to grow in the next few months?

Got a post-clerkship offer at my top choice firm. However, I worked before I started my clerkship, and I was opposing counsel to my top choice firm at my old firm in a litigation that is still ongoing. Are these conflicts usually consented to? Or should I be concerned about continuing down the path towards accepting with this new firm for post-clerkship? I’m pretty sure under my state’s ethics laws I would need informed consent from my former client. I haven’t informed the new firm of the potential conflict yet.

Absolutely yes!
I heard through the grapevine that K&E general corporate associates are being restaffed and retrained to do restructuring work. A bankruptcy boom is imminent and perhaps has already shown signs of starting.
Given the market weakness / anticipated market weakness, you will be in a job-seeker's market when applying to restricting associate positions.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
