Anyone have a sense of W&C's process for reference checks? As in, if they're calling your references post-interview, do you have a good shot or is that standard practice for them?
Should be a good shot at that point.
Yeah, I have always thought that if a potential employer is spending its time calling references, it must be interested in that candidate. Did you submit references with your application or did they ask for them after the interview?
Awesome, thanks all for the input. They asked after the interview

Mind sharing how long after the interview they asked? I haven’t been asked for references so I might be out of the running it seems.

I know hiring can happen at any time, but at what point does hiring start to significantly slow down? Mid-April? Now? June? Just not sure what the timeline generally looks like.

Is this different from the email a couple months about about how they were "still evaluating our needs for Judicial Clerks in the fall?" That is all I've heard from White and Case

Offer, dings, and an interview at SG/KH/Keker/Bartlit/Selendy/Kaplan level boutiques. Applied months ago so there is some hope for those waiting in the zone of silence.

I know that at least two top DC firms that typically hire a lot of clerks are on complete hiring freezes this year. I’m sure there are others.

Anyone know when W&C pays the clerkship bonus? Is it when you start?

I applied to their DC office ages ago and I took their silence as a rejection.

It took a couple weeks before I received my offer after submitting references.

Took me about a week and a half from references to offer. I think they’re just working through people—they might not call your references right away (I know they didn’t call mine right away) so just try to hang in there.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
