GDC Dallas has made several offers. They have a pretty good pipeline of former summers/associates coming off of clerkships this fall, so probably not that many openings to begin with.

Also heard that Winston Dallas and Sidley have extended offers.

Anyone have insight into whether this is a slower cycle than normal or if this is about how it goes every year?

I wonder if firms are just moving a little later this year? I’ve been depressed all last month thinking I wasn’t gonna get a job but have gotten two interview requests this week. DC/NY. Obviously anecdotal, but maybe things will pick up?

Mayer Brown appellate didn't send interview invites until the last couple of weeks. So some firms are definitely moving late.

Boston delays exist as I have heard nothing from DLA Piper, Jones Day nor Sidley. Quinn Emanuel ding likely coming so as least they move fast.

Things may be slowly picking up. Have had movement with a couple DC firms.

Also a lot of this thread has been about big law, but I've had DoJ movement too

Mind sharing which firms/which components of DOJ? I’ve been targeting both

Since I know MB has been having interviews, how have they been for people? How many folks have you talked with and how have the conversations been?

If hires have been made and dings are going out now, it seems like Orrick's SCOTUS group is probably done with hiring.

How is it looking for others? I've mostly heard back from boutiques in CA. Interviewed with 3 boutiques and just waiting. Also waiting for Mayer Brown. Silence from the other places.

Is this for Mayer Brown's SCOTUS/Appellate group? I think they are wrapping up their process.

Should I expect to hear a response after a callback? It has been roughly two weeks since my callback and I am wondering whether that non-response should be understood to be a "no," or I am being impatient.

It depends. I would say for most firms, two weeks is fine. Some boutiques move more quickly because their hiring decisions are made by committees that meet weekly.

"Two weeks is fine" as in, don't presume no-response = no?
