Got a post-clerkship offer at my top choice firm. However, I worked before I started my clerkship, and I was opposing counsel to my top choice firm at my old firm in a litigation that is still ongoing. Are these conflicts usually consented to? Or should I be concerned about continuing down the path towards accepting with this new firm for post-clerkship? I’m pretty sure under my state’s ethics laws I would need informed consent from my former client. I haven’t informed the new firm of the potential conflict yet.
Isn't the solution here that you're screened from working on the matter entirely?

Is Akin Gump not accepting apps from clerks? On their website only postings are for associates with experience (laterals). The "general" application, if you click on it, says there are no positions. And if you email recruiting, they tell you to apply via their website. What a run-around. Anyone have insight on this process?

I have a friend who got a second round interview. I think it took a couple weeks to hear back though.

Is it normal to have multiple screeners for the same firm? I'm talking with my third partner next week.

Anyone know Munger cb —> offer timeline, especially because the firm votes on everything.

Do lit boutiques tend to interview all at once and then "waitlist" people after extending offers to some? Or is it more of a rolling process, with new interview invites going out in feb-march after this round?

Anyone receive an offer after more than two weeks of silence following a callback? Had what felt like a decent interview with my top choice, but they've gone radio silence since then. They didn't give me a timeline when I interviewed.

I am incoming clerk this August and reading all these responses and lack of hiring makes me extremely anxious.

Got an offer with my top choice after 5 weeks of radio silence lol. I think there's not the same sense of urgency to make decisions with clerk hires. Don't give up hope!

You had a second-round interview two days after your first? Wow! Sounds exhausting.

My first was just a quick 20 minute screener phone call. Second was a full day.

Oh I see. Interesting. I went straight to full day for the first interview. Did you already get an offer?
