Reapplying after post-interview rejection

A circuit judge rejected me after an interview. I lined up a district court clerkship in the judge's circuit. Is it worth reapplying to the circuit judge for a future term? Does anyone have success in this situation?

It depends on why they rejected you. If it was purely a supply-and-demand issue where you were a close second choice, they may reconsider you. But at least in my chambers someone like that would’ve been encouraged to reapply, either directly or through recommenders. If that didn’t happen, it is much more likely that the judge and/or the clerks didn’t think you were a good fit. And if that’s the case, the rejection is final and you should look elsewhere.

Why not? Worst case scenario is getting another rejection.
