Worth Applying for Another Magistrate Clerkship?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jul 27, 2021 12:51 pm

Current fed mag clerk here. I’ve been submitting apps for district judge clerkships for next term but haven’t had any luck lately. Would it be worth it to also apply to select fed mag clerkships (like in my home state)? I figure that my current role would be of interest (but I guess I thought the same thing when I submitted my district judge apps). Would this be a career killer or have any negative impacts on my career? I have no firm plans after my current clerkship ends if that helps answer any questions.

If the alternative is unemployment, then yes, you should apply.
