Any chance of movement this upcoming week or was most of it done last week?
Wondering this too
Most of the most competitive judges moved this last week, but there will be some who move at their own pace and will be recruiting over the next few months.
There's also likely a batch of judges that moved this week and disliked enough candidates they interviewed/had enough people decline their offers that they'll have to send out another round of interview invites in the next couple of weeks.

Also depends what years ur applying for . . . judges with 2023/24 openings have some leeway to take a bit more time while those on 2022 plan have to go with the mad dash to get talent

Is that a decent amount of judges or just a few? Trying to gauge whether I have any chance of hearing anything lol

I'm in the same boat, still waiting to hear. Does anyone know if it's common to completely strike out if you send out enough applications (D.Ct primarily)? I'm not the most competitive candidate (top 1/3 at a respectable school in the south), but I have cast a pretty wide net and have tried to leverage connections and local ties. Or am I fighting an uphill battle?

I mean at this point we're splitting hairs. There are some. Probably quite a few D. Ct. judges, fewer CoA judges. You do have a chance of hearing something if you haven't been reached out to by now, but I don't think anyone can give you a number or percentage chance. As mentioned, clerkships for 2022 are pretty full now, but there's more leeway for 2023/24.

And yes, to the other poster, it is very common for people to completely strike out, even if they're sending tons of applications to "less competitive" judges. Without sterling credentials (i.e. top 10% at a T14) and/or a professorial connection, getting out of the OSCAR pile is very difficult. Even with the proper resume and/or connections, it can still be a crapshoot.

My question wasn't about my chances personally, was just hoping to hear from someone from like HLS where they distribute lists about which judges have moved and see if there were still a lot of judges who haven't given interviews. Obviously if that number is low, chances aren't great. Hoping you're right on the district court judges!

How does the process work for newly appointed judges? Do they pop up on OSCAR eventually after being confirmed, or are they typically inheriting clerks from the judge moving on?

Basically the only time judges accept clerks originally selected by another judge is when a judge passes away unexpectedly; new appointees pick their own clerks. I've seen new appointees post on OSCAR, but they definitely also tap into their existing networks (e.g. professors, Fedsoc), possibly more so than other judges.

Top 15% at HLS with no interviews yet. Wild. Didn't see this coming.
How do you know your rank at HLS?
I have a 3.93 GPA. Magna cutoff (top 10%) is usually 3.95 or 3.96. So I am extrapolating.

Did you have professors call for you and how broadly did you apply (like only DC?) that seems totally strange based on who I know at HLS who have gotten clerkships/interviews. A mentor of mine at my law school said this cycle is the most competitive they’ve seen. Sorry and hope something comes soon.

Same commenter as before. Thanks for the nice note. I applied to a large number of judges, although most are highly competitive. My professors made some calls for me. I am not sure what's going on!

I'm sure it's a fluke-you are super competitive. I hope things are just slow for some of these judges. Good luck!

My theory is that the Spring 2020 P/F semester helped protect a lot of GPAs that ballooned the following year with students able to take easier non-doctrinal classes off of the curve. More people probably applied simply because their GPA was competitive.

But I guess that would also mean judges aren't really looking closely at transcripts to see what classes people are taking, so competitive cycle could just be random.

Anyone hear from any PAE judges? T3, estimated 30th percentile, but haven't head anything. I know everyone is focused on SDNY/EDNY movement but any intel about Philadelphia would be greatly appreciated!
