How do I find out which judges (SDNY) are hiring off plan? I am in Fed Soc/URM /2L at HYS.

I would think the best thing to do is ask your chapter president.

Look for judges who don't require two years of grades and accept email or paper applications. I'm not aware of any SDNY judge that hires off-plan, including the Trump appointees. As far as I know, Menashi and Park are the only judges in the whole Second Circuit that are not on the plan, and Park still hires students on the plan, it's an overwhelmingly plan-adherent area.
But yeah your Fed Soc 3Ls may know differently. You might also try an alum who's clerking on SDNY or CA2.
