I know someone interviewing next week for a COA spot. Not sure how/when they applied, though.
Know someone interviewing with Lee on CA2 next week.

I think Perez is still interviewing, although it’s likely all her interview invitations have already been extended given the posting has been marked filled.

I did an interview almost a full month ago now. I was asked to be patient because the process tends to be slow, and it seemed like a wait of two + weeks wasn't unusual. At this point, though, I'm wondering if I should just reach out with a message that says something like: "I just want to reaffirm my interest in this position." I expect I'll be told that they've moved on with other candidates, but for the sake of my anxiety, I would love to have this thing resolved. Is there any reason this would be a bad idea? Thanks in advance for any help!

I can’t speak for every chambers, but as a law clerk who is the point person for interviews/hiring process, I wouldn’t mind this email at all. It’s normal to feel concerned and all the clerks very recently went through the same process you did. With that being said, in my judge’s chambers we let you know ASAP if it’s an offer or a no, so this may vary between judges.

I would reach out. Also, I don't think you're necessarily out especially since they said the process could take two or more weeks. Not like the judge was like I move fast and then hasn't said anything for 4 weeks (even judges that say they move fast still might be considering you now that we're "off plan").

Anybody hear of movement on the COA judges confirmed this past month (Lee, Mathis, Mendoza, Montecalvo, Merriam, Pan, and Freeman) for 2023-24? Looks like several of them have posted on OSCAR.

AFIK Pan hired for 2023 when she was on the district court and is presumably taking her clerks with her

Circuit judges do get one more clerk, though

Anyone know literally anything about Judge Mays? Even the wikipedia entrance for him is boring lol, but he has an opening for 2023-24!
