Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
I’m actually pleasantly surprised by the lack of movement. I only applied to D. Ct. clerkships and was under the impression that basically everything happened this week but it seems like the only judges extending interview requests already are the ones I wasn’t competitive for anyways.

Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
Data point from a not-elite applicant: I'm a rising 3L at CCN, top quarter of class (don't know exact rank), leadership position in secondary journal. I've received one invite from a fast-moving D.Ct. judge in a non-prestige district but otherwise radio silence.
(Not complaining about the silence. I know how lucky I am to have even one response right now.)

Applicants with competent clerkship offices, can you share any news from today?

Not much movement so far other than some beginning to take 2/9/DC offers.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 1:16 pmApplicants with competent clerkship offices, can you share any news from today?

Retweeting the above, and adding that there has, in generally, been very very very very very little D. Ct. movement in comparison to the number of D. Ct. judges out there.
(And of course, a fairly low % of movement even from circuit judges).
So keep your heads up, everybody.

Was this non-prestige district in the South? if so I am in an identical position statwise and results-wise to youAnonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 1:13 pmData point from a not-elite applicant: I'm a rising 3L at CCN, top quarter of class (don't know exact rank), leadership position in secondary journal. Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
A little anecdote for applicants who are stressing:
I know recent grads who last year either didn’t do well on the plan or decided to forego the plan process and just apply later with first semester 3L grades. They got several DDC/SDNY interviews and landed one of those clerkships.
It’s frustrating to not know how things will end up now, but especially if you’re flexible on timing, this isn’t your only shot.

FWIW, top 5% at a T15-18 with LR. I've received one COA interview offer and one district court in the same circuit. Neither come up on any prestige lists but happy that I get a chance.

That depends on how broad your definition of "the South" is, but probably yes? Good luck, cycle twin!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 1:37 pmWas this non-prestige district in the South? if so I am in an identical position statwise and results-wise to youAnonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 1:13 pmData point from a not-elite applicant: I'm a rising 3L at CCN, top quarter of class (don't know exact rank), leadership position in secondary journal. Top 5% at MVP, law review managing board, and radio silence on non-feeder CoA judges.

I know someone said Ramos has invited to interview, but has anyone else on SDNY? Last year it seemed they were faster.

Some hope for those of us who aren't superstars at HYS! I'm top 20% at a not-T14, exec board of LR but otherwise average application. I have one d.ct interview with a judge in the Northeast (not SDNY/EDNY/DDC) and one with a judge in the Midwest.

Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
Hi. Pretty naive of the Clerkship game and just found this thread while looking to see whether there has been movement. What are the realistic odds of a person at a non T-14, top 10% of class, with Law Review at the big courts like 2/9/DC or D.D.C.?

The feeders are all basically done on DC/9th/2nd. I can't imagine that many more interview invites will go out w/ how few spots there are and the # of interviews already offered.

What are the odds of someone outside of T-14 at D.D.C. or D.C. Circuit?
