Temporary clerkship
Hello, I am currently applying to an Honors Program, and if an offer is given, it would not start for another year. To pass the time from taking the bar (February cycle) until the new job starts, are clerks able to be hired For a temporary? Even if it’s for less than 6 months?

Re: Temporary clerkship
Sometimes clerks drop out and a judge needs to make an emergency hire to temporarily fill the gap, but it's not a common or regular thing. These kinds of positions usually just fall into the laps of people who weren't expecting them, usually because they have a second or third degree connection to the judge and hear about the vacancy through the grapevine or get recommended for it. You can do your best to try to keep your ear to the ground to see if you find anything but don't plan on being able to find a perfect gap-filling, March to August clerkship.
