Anybody know about term clerkships for California Supreme Court? I know many judges only hire career clerks but I've heard a few hire term clerks. If that's true, what's the application process like and how do the judges share vacancies (i.e. online, word of mouth, etc.).

My understanding is that Liu and Cuellar hire term clerks, Kruger may or may not hire term clerks, and the rest hire career clerks. Don't know how the justices share vacancies but I would probably just mail in an application and note in the cover letter the terms you are applying for.

Liu, Cuellar, and Kruger hire term clerks. They have career clerks as well, but also each hire 3 term clerks each year (kinda like a federal district court judge). The rest only have career clerks.
