LORs and References - Can we double dip?

Here's a question I know we've all thought about. Is it unwise to have the same people that wrote us a LOR on our list of references?

Or is it better to have persons A,B, and C write LORs, and persons X,Y, and Z on our list of references?

As a general rule you can double dip. Probably helps if you have at least one solid non-LoR writer reference. Also, some judges will explicitly note on OSCAR whether they want references distinct from LoR writers (and how many), whether they want a reference from a legal employer, and whether they want a reference letter from a legal employee (thia last one = rare, but saw at least once on OSCAR).
