Job hunting for after your clerkship

Just curious, as my clerkship ends in August and I have nothing currently lined up for after... How much of a role did your judge take in your post-clerkship job search? Mine knows I'm looking, but hasn't offered any help.

Yeah, totally agree with the above, down to clerking twice for judges with opposite approaches. Nothing you can really do if your judge thinks it's inappropriate to advocate for you.

It's not clear though whether you've asked or just assumed the judge would be proactive? If you haven't directly addressed this with them, you could try feeling them out a little bit. I know they know you're looking but some people don't like to butt in unless asked. (Though I would be pretty delicate about it because from what you say it's probably more likely than not that they're a hands off type.)

Mine was the latter. Offered to be a reference and apparently said great things about me once called by prospective employers checking up on references, but doesn't initiate the contact.
